From "Fix-It and Forget-It"
12 cups pared, cored, thinly sliced, cooking apples
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup water
1 Tbsp lemon juice
freshly grated nutmeg, optional
1. Place apples in slow cooker.
2. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Mix with apples. Stir in water and lemon juice, and nutmeg, if desired.
3. Cover. Cook on Low 5-7 hours, or High 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours.
4. Stir for a chunky sauce. Serve hot or cold.
